Talesai restaurant is one of L.A.'s upscale Thai dining offerings. This swanky little spot right on the rock'n'roller end of the Strip is a pleasant oasis of cool design with works by local artists on the walls and a décor that seems mildly trapped in the 1990s. The menu's classic Thai dishes are quite good and Heavenly Duck is just that, marinated in ginger and soy before being fried to perfection. But these dishes aren't appreciably better than what can be found in Thai Town's hole-in-the-walls. And those places are cheaper. Talesai is a place to take the family when they come to town and want a citified Thai dinner.
