Can someone be a regular in a place that just opened 2 weeks ago? Well if it is possible then I guess I am. I stumbled across Provecho on what turned out to be their 3rd day open and I have been back 4 times since. It is a beautiful space in a corner office building at Wilshire and Flower. They have a "ceviche bar", huge regular bar area and very warm and elegant dining room. Not at all what I expect of a Mexican restaurant but as the hostess politely corrected me, "We are Modern Mexican". What I learned is that "Modern Mexican" is a nice way to say not your mother's mexican food. The dishes are finer verisons of what we have grown to love about Mexican food but crafted with flair that foodies will go crazy for. Try any of the sopes, ceviche or pork dishes! Muy Bueno! House margarita is awesome and top shelf tequila comes in the well here!
