Echo Park has a new entry in the “upscale dining” category. 15 serves calamari, chopped salad, Kobe beef, short ribs, crème brule, and other menu standards to a group of somewhat surprised neighbors. The food is fine, but doesn’t quite match the high-ish prices. When the liquor license comes through, it will be an ideal place for a quiet, civilized drink, maybe accompanied by some dessert (try the chocolate croissant bread pudding). The Kobe burger is another standout on the small menu.
