Echo Park has a new entry in the "upscale dining" category. 15 serves mac n cheese, chopped salad, short ribs, filet mignon and other menu standards to a group of somewhat surprised neighbors. The food is fine, but doesn’t quite match the high-ish prices. Instead, go from 5 p.m.-6:30 p.m. and take advantage of the daily $15@15 special: A three course tasting menu for $15 that has the masses buzzing. This is an ideal place for a quiet, civilized drink, accompanied by dessert. The chocolate croissant bread pudding and Kobe burger are standouts on the small menu.
