Romanov Restaurant & Lounge is Studio City's luxurious Faberge Egg. Romanov's jewel-box-lovely interior is a sensual riot of imperial Russian luxury which features elaborate chandeliers, thick, rich red tapestries curtaining the walls, dark, hand-carved mahogony furnishings, burnished gold decorations on the walls, and the soaring ceiling make a diner feel like they're noshing in the emperor's throne room itself. Traditional Russian specialties are given a light and lifting twist by proprietor Mikayel Israyelyan, who's updated his family's own recipes for delicacies like Russian-style croquettes, blinis, a velvety borscht and caviar. An angel's flight of high-end vodkas go down like nectar when paired with Romanov's steaks and pork chops. It's a beautiful, idiosyncratically, sumptuous restaurant for a magical evening.
