This supermarket has been in place since 1957, but was recently reinvented after a brief closure as a purposefully upscale market. An event planner bought the Pico institution and brought in items like household gifts and sushi and bakery items in twee packaging. It has always been a good place for well-butchered meat and special-occasion poultry (think Thanksgiving turkeys), a tradition that stands today.
