This Japanese supermarket is a food mecca for those in the know. On weekend afternoons, the lanes are buzzing with attendants hyping food samples amidst the rice and sake and udon—think, Costco but with curry rice rather than bagel bites. Along with a big produce section, a fish counter and a butcher, the prepared food bin is a sight to behold with rows upon endless rows of bento boxes and noodle-icious combos. The food court is also a highlight for many, even if you didn’t come to grocery shop. And the day wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the candy aisle for some of the cutest snacks to say "Hello Kitty." It can get crazy, but there’s a reason people are such big fans.
