Royale’s unlikely location near MacArthur Park has kept it out of the limelight, but it is one of LA’s sleeker nightspots. The restaurant is romantically lit and the bar keeps going til 2am, and there’s no better time to take advantage than the last Friday of every month, when the executive chef dishes up a favored cuisine: soul food. Items like pork spareribs and mac ‘n cheese appear on the special menu, and soul food appetizers are 1/2 off. There’s also live music hosted by local radio DJs and music executives.
