Tucked into a converted carriage house, Lucques is a restaurant with a menu that reads like a love letter. Wild mushroom lasagna with sugar snaps, green garlic, parmesan and pea tendrils, grilled pancetta-wrapped wild salmon with black rice, garlic scapes and local rhubarb, and huckleberry beignets with elderflower sabayon and kumquat soda compete for the hearts of blissed-out foodies. Chef Suzanne Goin’s favorite French olives—the plump green Lucques variety—kick off each meal along with salty almonds and fresh La Brea Bakery bread. Exposed brick, high rafters, a wood-burning fireplace and a tree-dotted patio wrapped in white canvas create a clean, airy backdrop for the colorful, well-presented dishes.
