The venerable La Serenata is a serenade to Veracruz-style Mexican food, which exploits the bounty of the sea. Fresh fish and shellfish find their way into gorditas, enchiladas and tacos. The fish special of the day—from Mexican sea bass to mahi mahi—is always a saucy affair, with creations like molcatejete and huitlacoche sauces. This Westside outpost is a nice respite from the bustle of the Third Street Promenade.
