Tender Greens’ organic free-range chicken comes from Petaluma, once famously known as the Egg Capital of the World and, yeah, Winona Ryder’s hometown. Located about 40 miles north of San Francisco in Sonoma County, Petaluma Poultry is so hooked on sustainability it has its own Sustainability Team to keep its practices up to snuff. That means each bird is raised in spacious houses (each gets a roomy one square foot to call its own), can roam for a good portion of the day, eats certified organic feed and is steroid- and drug-free.
