Kiss My Bundt's baby cakes
The goods: We like small Bundts and we cannot lie. Kiss My Bundt on West 3rd Street breaks from the cupcake mold by baking up tasty treats in grooved Bundt shapes and an array of rotating flavors, from red velvet to luscious lemon drop. Larger sizes are also available.
The price: Mini $2.50, baby $4.50, big ol’ Bundt $32.
The taste: We oohed and aahed over the chocolate cake mini Bundt with Oreo frosting; it’s moist, dense and richer than a chocolate cupcake. But we found the best-selling red velvet Bundt to have a grainy texture and baking soda aftertaste. The cinnamon coffee cake and the pumpkin variation were unremarkable. The novelty here is in the shape, not the taste.
Portability factor: A. There’s no place to sit, but the shop has an assortment of to-go boxes, and the cakes travel well.
