Though there is no shortage of Latin restaurants in L.A., there are very few serving Spanish food. According to the owners of Tinto, even the many tapas bars springing up in the area aren’t particularly authentic. That was, in fact, the motivation behind opening the restaurant. Tinto aims to bring Spanish cuisine to Angelenos, and we may be surprised by how foreign it seems: Not many places around town offer duck with pears or squid with potatoes.
