This is a belated review, since I was there last year on vacation. I was walking distance from the place, and the first time I went there was pretty good, so I decided to just go there again the next day.
The first day, I had the rib eye, I forgot what side dish I had, and the chocolate peanut butter desert. The bread is really good, so it's worth mentioning that. The rib eye was cooked properly, but not the best piece of meat. The desert was really flavorful. The service was polite, respectful, and attentive - I didn't get any attitude or disdain for not being a celebrity. The decor was beautiful.
The next day, I went back because I thought that it would be great as long as I didn't order the rib-eye again. I was right. I sat at the bar, so needless to say there was attentive service from the bartender. He was very friendly and down to Earth. Since I was by myself and didn't need a table, I got right in without waiting beyond people cutting in front of me while waiting to speak with the host (apparently it's the customers with attitudes, not the staff LOL).
This time, I ordered the skirt steak and mashed sweet potatoes. They both were great. The steak was cooked properly, very tender and flavorful, and the wine sauce was delicious. And since it was the petite, it was only 19.00...I've never had anything that good for so little. Overall, it's great if you don't order the wrong thing. If you want a big marbleized ribeye, you would be better off somewhere like Mortons. But you can definitely get good food here.

I live about half-a-mile from STK and tons of other great restaurants in the area. I love good food and will spend $$$$ to get food and service. I am a finicky meat eater, frequenting some of the best steak restaurants in town. Shortly after STK opened - my husband and I had dinner there, joined by a good friend who shares our appreciation of a good meal. My filet was overcooked and fatty. My husband's food as well as my friend's were average - but for the price, they were awful. The waiter was very nice but slow - he even apologized, realizing how horrible the experience was for us. Don't be fooled by celebrity haunts - in general, I find that most of these places aren't very good and the average person isn't treated very well.

STK is a phenomenal restaurant for those of you who love a steak cooked to perfection. The portions are a hell of a lot more than your moneys worth when you take the quality and the size of the portion into consideration. The steaks are cooked exactly they way you want them no questions asked! I highly recommend trying out their New York Strip steak it is amazing. Also the drinks at STK are great but I would have to say they are a little bit pricey. Although I can confidently say that you never will have to worry about your drink being mixed wrong or being to weak, a problem that has occurred all to often for me. The vibe there is also extremely relaxing. On the nights I have went to STK the music has been great they play everything from the top 40 to the old school beats you listened to in high school. There are some catches but they are very understandable. You will have to wait a while even if you have reservations if you don’t have any type of connection to someone or something going on at STK. It’s just like any good club; they don’t want every average Joe in their restaurant. They also have to be extremely careful since celebrities regularly attend the restaurant that other customers who are eating there don’t bother them. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves great steak and it’s definitely worth waiting even if you don’t have a connection. You have to remember you are in HOLLYWOOD! On top of all this once your done eating you can go to Coco Deville which is a great club. Although you definitely will need connections to get in there, it’s a very tight door and is full of tons of celebrities!

What a treat! It felt like you were in NY - magical! The food was beyond excellent! Great portions, value for money and what the taste buds ordered. The whole menu is worth revisiting and trying out. I loved everything and the sweet corn pudding is sensational. Truffle fries are to die for! Customer service was the best I have seen in LA - liked that the staff looked very happy in their working environment.
If you want to have fun, enjoy music and have an excellent meal, STK is the place for you!

Attention all non-celebrities......be prepared to spend alot of money on drinks while waiting for the inexperienced management to figure out how to seat you. My gal and I waited for almost an hour after booking a reservation and were given the run around and the always timely "you're next on the list". I have been to STK in NYC and the LA restaurant should take some notes from them on customer service. Needless to say we left frustrated to the point that we will not be back anytime soon. If you do have the patience to deal with stupidity and a complete lack on management then I hope the food is worth it. Frankly speaking there are too many great steakhouses in LA to wait......I'm taking my business to Cut and Mastro's......Bon Appetit.
