Trader Joe’s is the food-loving, bad cook’s best friend. Though the chain of small grocery stores does have produce, their strength lies in the frozen food section. Defrostable desserts, microwavable Mexican favorites, and some truly admirable pizzas (try the Parlanno) fill up the freezers. When they haven’t been demolished by the masses, that is. There are many marinated meats to choose from, as well as a semi-decent cheese selection. Cocktail party throwers and attenders alike stop here to pick up something from the inexpensive wine section, as well as some chips and dip (three-layer hummus? Pineapple guacamole?). Of course, one must navigate the parking lot first – in most locations, that’s always a madhouse.
