The spacious flagship Asakuma on Wilshire offers the option of eating in the formal sit-down dining room or at the casual sushi bar, while the smaller Abbot Kinney and Robertson restaurants lend themselves more to carry-out, and the Santa Monica Boulevard location only delivers. The sushi earns high marks, but regulars advise to think outside the roll, as the marinated black cod is the mouth-watering specialty of the house.
