Another Sushi Restaurant With Bad Overpriced Food

The outdoor space is lovely when you walk in. Unfortunately there is a valet parker just outside the door which costs $4 dollars plus a tip at the end, and if you park your own car in front of him you don't get the nicest look. Ok fine, no big deal. When we sat down our party of six ordered numerous sushi rolls, some ate the chicken teriyaki dinner as well. The sushi rolls were small, mostly flavorless and fishy, but not in a good way. The chicken was gamey and dry, and the server was trying to be funny but actually came across as rude. I never take the time to write reviews, but when the prices are extravagant, the portions are small and the food is bland and or off putting, I feel cheated and offended. These people need to take an afternoon and actually taste their own food. Ramsy might be able to help whip some sense into them! I think I'll stay in my own neighborhood and patronize Niko Niko and stay away from Mia Sushi!

A group of us cruised in last night. We were seated promptly. We decided to sit outside to enjoy a warm summer night under the stars with good friends. We trully enjoyed our visit here. The food was delicious. The service was very friendly and very attentive. We tried just about everything including their yummy banana & tempura desert. We will be coming back soon.

I went there for the first time a few weeks ago with a friend. It was a nice little place with good food. Nice place to hang out where it does not get crowded or loud. The valet and server staff were very friendly.

Pricey and gross

Mia Sushi attempts to bring West Side Sushi to the East Side. Unfortunately, it seems they brought everything BUT the actual sushi. First off you're hassled by rude Valets who are pissed that there is ample street parking all round. Next, you have to wait to be seated in a cramped, overly decorated space that screams "cheesy" everywhere you look. Then you endure low-grade fish that is drowning in mayo and otherwise masked by tons of onion and/or avocado. Don't get me wrong, I love onion and avocado... just not everywhere on everything, and especially not when is is used to hide bad fish. Finally you have the privilege of shelling out West Side prices for the whole lacking experience. Myself and everybody I have talked to comes away disappointed and quite a bit poorer. Skip Mia (and it's brother Marty's) and hit up one of the much better, kinder and more legitimate places that Eagle Rock and Highland Park has to offer. The neighborhood is getting better by the day, but Mia isn't helping.
