The Scarlet Tea Room in Pasadena doesn’t just serve afternoon tea, but when they do, they go big. The Scarlet Tea Ceremony includes scones and tea sandwiches, as per tradition, but it also includes sorbet and Strawberries Romanoff, a preparation that calls for Cointreau, sugar, heavy cream, and ice cream. The sandwich selection is pretty big and also not entirely traditional (steak is involved). The tea service can be ordered from 11-4, Tuesday through Sunday.
