In the eve of Sunset Junction’s glorious all-weekend music party, Intelligentsia opened its award-winning, socially-conscious- before-social-consciousness-was-hip counter to the caffeine junkies of Silverlake. Fans of the Black Cat espresso are legion while expertly micro-roasted coffee is coaxed from not one but two Clover machines. Very smart coffee indeed. People with more of a sweet tooth should request a shot of agave syrup in their lattes (trust us). There are also chocolate drinks made with Scharffen Berger chocolate, perfect for sipping while enjoying an evening on the blue and white tiled patio.  Plus, it's no surprise that this effortlessly bohemian hip, ahead of the game without trying spot is now serving up some of the city's first vegan donuts (courtesy of Dee's Nuts, a sassy, health-conscious Downtown foodie).  Intelligentsia just knows.
