Teri Hawaii’s claim to fame is shave ice, which some argue is the best on the mainland. A plethora of syrup flavors, ice cream and/or azuki beans can be added to the very finely shaved ice, mixed and matched to the customer’s taste. The plate lunches are also popular, as are the beef teriyaki and bowls of saimin. It’s not fancy, but it is a neighborhood favorite with a dedicated following.
