Street style: neckerchiefs
Baby bluekerchief
By Marcos Luevanos, Metromix
Timeless is the trend that never goes out of style. Resilient is the
one that experiences a second wind. But what is one to call a fad that
has come and gone more times than Robert Downey Jr.’s career? Made
popular by cowboys, boy scouts, flight attendants and Duran Duran, the
neckerchief is once again in vogue. While we’d have preferred some
other trend rise from the ashes and be thrust back into the style
cosmos, there are worse things that could have made an encore in the
concerto of life. The resurgence of the neckerchief just goes to show
that, when cleaning out your closet, one has to be very careful not to
throw out next month’s craze. You’re going to have to pry our puffy
paint adorned pullover from our cold, dead hands.
