After five full days in Culver City, it seemed like ages since we’d seen male cleavage, tight pants or anyone with bangs. All hail the hipster gods for the couture carnival that was Jared Gold’s "Czarina show." Union Station was transformed into a high-fashion Doo Dah parade, with “America’s Next Top Model” Season 5 alum Lisa D’Amato stepping out as the evening's first model. She wore full Marie Antoinette-style hair and makeup, setting the stage for a collection of tiered skirts, striped shirts, patterned tights and argyle print—all in bright pastels. It was like Easter Sunday in gothic Versailles.

Forgoing the darkness seen in his past collections, Gold designed a wearable line that looked both practical and whimsical—for those times you want to upstage the centerpiece at a fancy dinner party. Some of our favorite pieces included faded forest-green lederhosen, a knee-length yellow cape with visible bustle underneath, and a dress with giraffes printed in gold the entire length of the skirt. All in all, it was an evening that delivered exactly what it promised: a fun and exciting new way to experience cutting-edge garments.

Although we were completely exhausted from the demands of the week, we pushed ourselves to go to the Style Mansion party at an undisclosed location in the Hollywood hills. The whole operation was very "Mission: Impossible." We called a secret number (delivered via e-mail) and and left a message; five minutes later, we received a call back with the address of a parking garage at the toe of Sunset Blvd. Our mission (which we chose to accept) was to attend this function we knew very little about—except that Lindsay Lohan was supposed to host it in a building that may or may not be her home.

Once at the garage, we boarded an unmarked white van with other anonymous revelers and took off. We couldn’t help but wonder—what if this party was really some sort of "Eyes Wide Shut"-esque orgy, or worse, a charity fundraiser? Thankfully, it was neither. We arrived at a gorgeous Bruce Wayne-like manor two hours before the party was set to end, then passed a visibly miffed Lohan on our way in. We were greeted with an open bar and tables of swag. (Unfortunately, we didn’t know it was free for the taking until it was nearly gone—though we did get a sweet pair of white Barito sunglasses). It was odd seeing presumably wealthy people—including Paris Hilton, who made off with a white fur coat—grabbing at material possessions like normal people at a K-Mart blue-light special. The best part? Talking to Nicky Hilton for a good 10 minutes about her Fashion Week line and her future plans.

Spotted: Billy Zane of "Titanic" fame sitting front-row center at the Jared Gold show, along with designers Kit Pistol and Sweet P of "Project Runway" Season 3. Audrey Kitching and Lisa D’Amato modeling for Jared Gold, while photographer Fingers Crossed snapped photos of event host Clint Catalyst. Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Benji Madden and Nicky Hilton at the Style Mansion event.
