Longing to see Emilie Simon. This was THE worst concert I've ever been to.
I've been to concerts in Europe, South Africa and New Zealand to name a few.
This was EMBARRASSINGLY BAD!!!
We left before the last artist even finished her 2nd track. Doing covers for Top Gun!!!! OMG!
Terrible. Terrible. The venue is just gorgeous. Pity about the AWFUL artists. And I love world music. What a disgrace. Loads of people filing out before the end...
What a shame. :(

Poor staff for a music venue
By Muffy from Hollywood, October 26, 2008

This venue has the ambiance and set up that would generally be a five-star hit. Unfortunately, they have the most unfriendly staff I have encountered!

Let's recap...

Getting into the venue requires you to be put face to face with several "pitbulls in lipstick". These women are on such a power trip that they will literally scream/screech in your face to "get in a single file line!", and "I don't care if you miss the show, you will listen to me!!!"

If your hearing is still in tact, you get to go to the next guy in line who asks to look into your purse. He then starts rifling through everything himself (yes, I want your germ-infested hands in my handbag, thank you). He then confiscated all of my gum. Really???

Once inside, I was so irritated that we went directly to the bar outside for a drink. Thankfully our entire party was standing present at the bar because they will only allow you one drink per person. So, splitting up to send two people to the bar and two people to sit at an open cabana isn't an option.

Once the show starts, you will see many of the "pitbulls in lipstick" inside as they are hell-bent determined to find the source of marijuana smoke, almost knocking guests down the stairs in their valiant search. Ladies - if you're planning to wear heels, please add twisted ankle to your agenda for the evening.

So, if you're looking for a cool venue where you can relive your days at strict Catholic boarding school or you're a masochist, this is the place for you!!! I think I'll wait patiently for the Palladium to reopen.
