This is one of the most breathtakingly beautiful places you'll see a rock show in Los Angeles. Set in a 1930's art deco building, the Wiltern was recently renovated, revealing even more opulence. Nelly Furtado, N.E.R.D. (with Justin Timberlake in tow), Fiona Apple, Iggy Pop, Feist and Interpol have all thrilled capacity crowds (2,200 bodies) in the theater, with open general admission standing room only downstairs and upstairs balcony seating (although they will occasionally set up chairs on the main floor). The lobby is amazing, with an awesome double staircase leading to the balcony. Buy your tickets early if you want main floor access (crashing can be more than a little difficult), arrive early if you want to get all the way down in the pit, especially for sold out shows (fans have been known to camp out for hours to get a spot right in front of the stage). Otherwise, take a quick stroll north on Western and grab an extremely affordable drink or two at Frank N Hank's on the east side of the street. You'll be glad you did. Just remember to bring cash!
