For three weeks each year, hundreds of television critics convene in Los Angeles for the network dog and pony show officially known as the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour. Networks large and small preview their programming for the coming year, then trot out their executives, producers and stars for the media. Those with a magic ticket to the events and the fortitude to subsist off hotel breakfast buffets and complimentary cocktails for three weeks get the scoop on what will be premiering and returning to small screens this fall and next spring.
Metromix sent an intrepid correspondent to the Beverly Hilton to send back regular dispatches from the frontlines and provide behind the scenes reports on the decades-old institution grizzled veterans simply call “tour.”
