Judy's Best of LA

From the streets to the hills....this native's favorite eats. I grew up on this stuff and turned out better than OK.

    Johnny's Pastrami on Adams - 4

4331 W. Adams Blvd. - Los Angeles (West Adams)

The best Pastrami in the UNIVERSE. Hands Down. It's so worth the wait and the drive. If you are from LA and don't know about this joint - you should lose your LA Card. Don't get all cute and order other stuff - get what they do best....PASTRAMI!

    Canter's Deli - 3 1/2

419 N. Fairfax Ave. - Los Angeles (Fairfax District)

I have loved everything here....from the cookies to the Rubens....everything at Canter's is always all good. The best Deli in LA....even rivals NY's best.

    Fatburger - 0

10955 Kinross Ave. - Westwood (Westwood Village)

Fatburger was my favorite place as a kid....and when the original location closed....and it franchised out...it lost it....it's a good burger - but no location has ever tasted as good as the Original off of San Vincente. :-(

    Stan's Donuts

    Stan's Donuts - 5

10948 Weyburn Ave. - Los Angeles (Westwood Village)

Real Donuts...not sugary airy fluff. Stan's kicks Krispy Kreme to the Curb.

    Nick's Coffee Shop & Deli

    Nick's Coffee Shop & Deli - 1

    8536 W. Pico Blvd. - Los Angeles

You could eat here everyday for half of your life and never eat the same meal twice....although it's all soooo good, you'd want to.

    Pioneer Chicken - 5

    5970 W. Olympic Blvd. - Los Angeles

As a child, I'd eat the crust and leave the chicken. Now I happily eat both. One of few places to get really good fried chicken.

    Knott's Berry Farm

    Knott's Berry Farm - 0

8039 Beach Boulevard - Buena Park

It is worth the traffic and the drive and the long wait in line for a bite into the best fried chicken in the world. They also do funnel cakes inside the park - the way a funnel cake should be made. The smell of the berries is pure joy. It doesn't get ANY better than this.

Great pizza....and a lot closer than Chicago or NYC.
