South looks, feels and tastes like a bar that belongs across the Mason-Dixon Line but somehow ended up in Santa Monica. The food and drink menus include items so fried, sweetened and sauced, you’d half-expect a Mark Twain character to order them. We found many of our favorite Southern friends on the cocktail list—refreshing mint julep, Pimm's cup, and SoCo and lime—alongside a few modern-day concoctions. The Peachtree martini and Pinapple Upside Down Cake (which can be served in a shot or a glass) both sound tasty—even though they’re more SoCal than Southern belle. Get daring and order a Deep South tea—their version of a Long Island iced tea—or a sipping whiskey with a side of Georgia boiled peanuts. If only they imported Lone Star…
