Regarding Gallery 1988: you're going to have to wait in line to get in, and once inside the tiny, packed space, you may suffer clausterphobia and perspire heavily. However, it's well worth it. Opened by hip–hop artist and underground art enthusiast Jensen Karp (a.k.a Hot Karl) with partner Katie Cromwell, Gallery 1988 attracts giddy drunk viewers by the hundreds during its crammed, open–bar affairs, which feature lowbrow and urban inspired artists like Luke Chueh. Sure it's a scene, but a good one.
