Remember the '90s? This diner certainly does. The bright orange space
is part retro, part grunge, and the servers look like a cross between
Courtney Love (circa 1994) and Kate Winslet in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
The four-page menu of comfort foods and the late-night hours attract
hipsters of every stripe and there are always those few celebs who
think they can sit on the sidewalk patio and go unnoticed behind their
giant shades. Made famous as the breakfast spot Seth Rogen and Katherine Heigl hit up after they had awkward, baby-makin' sex in "Knocked Up," Santa Monica's Swingers might not have the street cred of its Beverly Boulevard cousin, but it's still a mean place to get a cup of steamy (and the occasionally awkward) cup of joe.
