New High (M)art—the godfather of pop-ups—will open its doors April 5 (opening party starts at 8 p.m.) for an all-new nine-week installment titled World Fringe: An Ethno, Boho, Afro, Pow-Wow. Rather than focus on the wares and vision of a single designer, World Fringe siphons components from a motley crew of domestic and international clothing artists whose pieces reflect an "ethnic-bohemian direction." Think "the Olsen twins meet Eddie Murphy in 'Coming to America.'" World Fringe will feature items from Society for Rational Dress, Cavern, Telfar, Whitehorse Couture, The Battalion, Goddollars, Marvin y Quetzal, Brian Lichtenberg, Death/Traitors, Peggy Noland and Nehima.
